Unplanned Outages
In the event of an unplanned Vista outage, notice will be provided as a System Announcement to http://sysnews.ncsu.edu.
Planned Server Maintenance
It is necessary to take Vista offline at regular intervals for maintenance and/or upgrades. When such maintenance is necessary, it will take place only during scheduled server maintenance windows, which are listed below.
If no server maintenance is required during a scheduled maintenance window, then the service window will not be used and Vista will not be taken offline.
Instructors and students should plan their use of Vista with these server maintenance windows in mind, and should expect that Vista may not be available during these times. For example, instructors should not schedule assignment due dates, quizzes, etc., near these times, and students should not plan to access their course materials during these times.
