Java and Vista
Java is a program that is a very important component of Vista. If you do not have the correct version of Java, or if your Java has somehow become corrupted, you may have difficulties uploading and attaching files, posting to Discussion topics, sending Mail, using the Chat and Whiteboard, and using other functions in Vista.
It is important that your computer is configured with the correct version of Java to ensure the best results when using Vista. If you choose to use a different version of Java then you may experience some errors or problems when using Vista. The most recent version of Java is validated and supported for use in Vista and you can download it here:
Make sure you also have a supported browser. While the case may be that what is "supported" is not the most up to date, Blackboard recommends using a supported version for best results when using Vista. You may also want to download a browser plugin, like Adobe Acrobat Reader, to view certain content.
